In the realm where sun-soaked beaches meet the thrill of the open road, CryptoMoto user and motorcycle influencer embarked on an unexpected journey through the biker’s paradise of Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura.
Unveiling the Unexpected Paradise
What may seem like a typical haven for beachgoers reveals itself as a haven for bikers in the Canary Islands—a Spanish archipelago of volcanic origins bathed in the Atlantic Ocean’s splendor. The allure lay not just in the sun-drenched beaches but in the unexpected symphony of winding mountain roads, breathtaking vistas, and a mix that beckoned her to explore.
Greetings from a Biking Enthusiast
Hey, fellow bikers! If we haven’t crossed paths before in my blog about the Canary Islands and I’m here to take you along on my motorcycle adventures. Three years ago, I stumbled upon the CryptoMoto app, and it has been my trusted companion ever since, guiding me through the most beautiful winding roads. Now, thanks to this partnership with CryptoMoto, I can share my travels here, on YouTube, and provide you with a glimpse into my experiences.
Gran Canaria – The Canary Gem
A mere 5-hour flight separates from the vibrant landscapes of Gran Canaria. Packing essentials into a carry-on, she ponders the challenge of fitting the spirit of adventure into a confined space. Helmet? Motorcycle jacket? The logistical puzzle sparks her curiosity.
To tick off motorcycling in the Canary Islands from her bucket list, she opts for a flight to Gran Canaria, where a waiting bike stands ready. While local rentals were an option, the comfort of her own motorcycle gear wins her over.
Day 1 – Unveiling the Red-Bordered Curves
The sun blesses Las Palmas as journey begins. The whirring engine carries her toward the mountains, guided by CryptoMoto’s red-bordered curves. Along the coast, the GC-200 unfolds, a road adorned with breathtaking views of the sea and winding through a red landscape dressed in fine, glittering grasses.
From Las Marciegas, she bids farewell to the sea, venturing onto the GC-210. This road, lined with small hairpin bends, meanders through the rugged orange-yellow landscape into the mountains. Gran Canaria’s unique microclimates showcase different vegetation every few kilometers, painting a diverse and varied natural canvas.
Day 2 – The Narrowest Curves and Glass Balconies
A new morning prompts to explore the narrowest curves of the island. Along the GC-200, she plans a stop at the Mirador de Balcon, a glass balcony suspended hundreds of meters above the sea. The GC-605 beckons her into the island’s interior—a road adorned with the narrowest hairpin bends Gran Canaria has to offer. Dark red rocks, green grasses, and bushes frame the solitary road winding between conifers, offering a moment exclusively hers.
Day 3 – Charming Villages and Mountain Peaks
The GC-21 leads to Terror, a charming village in the island’s north, renowned for traditional houses and a beautiful church. From there, she heads to her destination, Pico de las Niveas, the highest point at 1945 meters. En route, she encounters a local motorcyclist who guides her to Cruz de Tejeda, a meeting place for local bikers.
Day 4 – Sailing to New Adventures
A new day unfolds, and with it, a new adventure. A two-hour ferry ride transports her motorcycle to Fuerteventura. The limited space prompts her to travel with hand luggage only, ensuring everything fits on the motorcycle.
Finally on Fuerteventura, she winds her way down familiar curvy roads. The FV-605 guides her past the dunes of Costa Calma, offering miles of beaches embraced by crystal-clear seas. The FV-30 leads her into the Mars-like mountains, a terrain she had always wished to traverse quickly by car but now savors every second on her motorcycle.
Heading north, she encounters the shifting sand dunes of Corralejo, passing unique volcanic landscapes covered in pastel green lichen. A Multistrada, ferry ride, and a few days sans motorcycle conclude her journey.
Final Thoughts
Bikergirl reflects on her adventure, expressing the certainty of revisiting Gran Canaria to explore more red-bordered roads on CryptoMoto. Fuerteventura, while less enticing for her as a road enthusiast, retains its special scenic allure, forever etched as her preferred destination for bathing and surfing vacations.
In the intricate dance between bikers and the Canarian wonders, journey unfolds, revealing that paradise, for a biker, is often found where the road meets the unexpected.
